North Park University students to take their choral talents on the road
When researching Christian colleges and universities, sometimes a school’s extracurricular activities are just as important as its academic programs. After all, these opportunities often provide students with a chance to take part in rewarding experiences.
For instance, the 45 students who are a part of North Park University’s choir are set to leave Illinois and tour New England, according to the school’s website. From March 10-12, the young singers will perform their “Towards a Peaceable Kingdom: Songs of Faith, Inspiration, and Community” show.
On March 10, the North Park University Choir will kick off their tour by bringing their melodies to the Bethany Covenant Church in Connecticut. The students will also perform in Massachusetts and New Hampshire.
Julia Davids, the university’s chair of choral activities, feels the tour’s theme reflects North Park itself.
“I think it holds with the focus of North Park University – that we’re part of a peaceful and knowledgeable co-existence with our urban location, with a diversity of students,” Davids told the website.
As a member of a North Park musical ensemble, students enrolled in this Christian university have an opportunity to share their talents with others throughout the year. For instance, this past December, performers participated in the Festival of Lessons and Carols, according to a press release.
