Christian students can ski year-round at Liberty University
Students should certainly choose a Christian university or college based on the types of academic programs they offer. However, the extracurricular activities a campus provides can be just as important, as hardworking students need to unwind every now and then.
For instance, students who have an interest in winter sports, such as skiing and snowboarding, do not have to attend Christian colleges and universities in colder climates in order hit the slopes. Virginia’s Liberty University has its very own ski resort at the Liberty Mountain Snowflex Centre. What makes it stand out is the fact that instead of snow, individuals kick up Snowflex, a synthetic material designed to emulate the powdery substance, states the centre’s website.
This is one reason why the Snowflex Centre was recently named one of Popular Mechanics’ strangest ski resorts, according to a press release. However, in Liberty’s case, strange is good, as it only brings more attention to the Christian university’s unique attraction.
No matter what time of year it is, students can grab their skis or snowboard and glide down the slopes located atop Liberty’s 5,000-acre mountain.
