Online Christian colleges can be an opportunity for personal growth
The Bible has much to say about personal growth. Hebrews 5:12-14 reads, “For though by this time you ought to be teachers, you need someone to teach you again the basic principles of the oracles of God. You need milk, not solid food, for everyone who lives on milk is unskilled in the word of righteousness, since he is a child.” This means that, for men and women of faith, the act of growing in their walk with God is a lifelong process. Individuals can enroll in online Christian colleges and universities to develop personally, intellectually and spiritually.
Although the Bible says Christians should constantly grow and develop in their faith, it is necessary that adults come to this journey with an attitude of humility. Before God can transform their minds, men and women of faith need to be realistic about the limitations of their knowledge. If Christians approach any educational endeavor with a humble outlook, including studying at online Christian colleges, there is more room for God to work.
While many individuals enroll in online Christian universities for the sole purpose of learning a new skill or transitioning into a new career, some find that the academic journey itself is a worthwhile experience. Even if an adult is studying at a faith-based college via the internet, there are still plenty of opportunities for Christians to grow in their walk with God by meeting like-minded individuals.
It is often said that God works in mysterious ways. This could be especially true of the ways in which the Lord reveals things to his followers. For example, an individual may have a specific course of study in mind when they enroll at an online Christian college, but find that their experiences in an unrelated class, or a chance encounter with another believer, alters their plans. Although it is important for Christians to pray for guidance in order to follow God’s will, it is equally important for them to remain open to new experiences. Online Christian colleges may provide individuals with ample opportunities to do so.
No matter a person’s academic goals or individual motivations, enrolling at an online Christian university can be a challenging, rewarding experience that may help believers strengthen their faith and grow closer to the Lord.
