Transferring from a specialized degree at Christian colleges
Individuals who find themselves dissatisfied with their studies at online Christian colleges may be reluctant to consider transferring to another institution due to the nature of their program. If men and women of faith are enrolled in a specialized theology degree program, they may feel that they cannot transfer to another more generalized course. However, this is not necessarily the case.
In many instances, specialized theology degree programs at online Christian universities have a strong general education component, to ensure that students receive a well-rounded academic experience. If this is the case, students who want to transfer may find that their gen ed classes are among the easiest of their credits to apply toward a qualification at another institution.
Some of the more specialized classes offered at online Christian colleges can often be be transferred to another program. For example, Old and New Testament survey are both very common classes at faith-based institutions, despite the specific focus of the coursework. If men and women of faith are concerned about transferring their credits, they should discuss their worries with an admissions counselor at the schools they are considering.
